Sealed bids are invited for county road system improvements including major items of work such as Agg base (31,574 tons), modified shoulders (8,763 tons), HMA 4EL (45,883 tons), pavement removal (20,579 SYD), concrete pavement with integral curbs (6-inch, reinforced, 7,490 SYD), concrete pavement (reinforced, 6-inch, 9,677 SYD), concrete curb and gutter (2,585 LF), concrete curb and gutter (slip form, 400 LF), 4-inch concrete sidewalk (19,700 SFT), 6-inch concrete sidewalk (4,995 SFT), and epoxy anchored dowels (6,384 each). The work includes all labor, equipment, and materials required for completion. Bids must be sealed and delivered before the specified time. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security equal to at least 5% of the bid, in the form of lawful money, a cashier's or certified check, bank money order, bank draft from a Michigan national bank, or a surety bond. The awarded bidder must, within ten days of notice, execute the contract and provide a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract. Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of the bid security. Full compliance with state and federal equal opportunity employment laws and rules, as well as the Michigan Department of Labor's minimum wage regulations and the Fair Employment Practices Act, is required. The County Road Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and accept any advantageous bid. No bids may be withdrawn for thirty days after opening without consent.
