The Glynn County Airport Commission seeks to facilitate continued private aircraft hangar development at St. Simons Island Airport by preparing development-ready parcels. This includes the construction of infrastructure to support Skylane Hangar Infrastructure Development Phase 2. Proposed improvements include grading, paving, stormwater management and conveyance, utility infrastructure (water, sewer, fire protection, communications, electricity, site lighting), pavement milling/demolition, pavement marking, fencing/gates, grassing, landscaping, and airfield lights and signage. The project includes both FAA and GDOT asphalt mix materials and consists of a Base Bid plus three Additive Bid Schedules, which may be awarded at the discretion of the Commission. Bids must be sealed, marked, and submitted with a bid security of five percent (5%) of the bid price. Bidders must submit the bid, with original signatures, and two additional copies. Performance and Payment Bonds, as well as a Warranty for defects of material and workmanship for one year following acceptance, are required. The successful bidder will have 15 days to execute a contract and provide the required bonds and insurance certificates upon award. Bidders must also comply with the requirements for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), equal opportunity, and Buy American provisions.
