This contract provides for the construction of a new sidewalk on the south side of West Main Street near the intersection of Fryelands Boulevard, as well as the extension of a piped stormwater system to collect the runoff caused by the sidewalk. The sidewalk construction phase involves the installation of approximately 322 linear feet of 10-foot-wide sidewalk, 470 linear feet of new curb and gutter, two new driveway aprons, and improvements to the west crossing of West Main Street. The stormwater pipe network construction phase includes the installation of approximately 362 linear feet of 12-inch diameter storm pipe, five Type I catch basins, and connection to the existing storm drain. The project also includes removal and restoration of asphalt surfacing, movement of existing permanent signage, regrading of a large mound, property restoration, seeding, landscaping, and other features within the right-of-way as necessary to install the stormwater improvements and related work, all in accordance with the attached contract plans, contract provisions, and standard specifications. All bid proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished in the contract provisions and must be accompanied by a postal money order, cashier's check, or bid bond (with authorized surety company as surety) made payable to the City of Monroe in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid including sales tax, and all listed additives and alternates, if any.
