The Cochrane District Services Board, (hereinafter referred to as CDSB), is issuing this Request for Proposal, (hereinafter referred to as RFP), to select a qualified firm interested and capable to act as the General Contractor to provide a turnkey fixed-price solution for both the design and construction of a new residential 6 plex (hereinafter referred to as the Contract, Work or Project). The Cochrane District Services Board (CDSB) is taking an innovative approach to address the growing need for supportive housing in Hearst. The 6plex Project aims to build a new one-storey residential building with 6 apartments on a vacant a parcel of land located at 1317 Edward Street in Hearst, ON. The land is approximately 1,350 m2 having a frontage of 30 meters and depth of 45 meters and is located at 1317 Edward Street. The property is currently zoned as Institutional which is appropriate for a supportive housing use. Rezoning and by-law amendments will NOT be required. The successful Proponent will be responsible for undertaking a turn-key project comprised of project management, design and construction for a new 6-unit apartment building located in Heart, Ontario. The total building area should be between 2,850-3,000 square feet. The proposed apartment building is to be constructed using either conventional stick-frame construction or a modular building system bearing a pitched roof suitable for the local climate and snow load conditions.
