The MUHA has estimated that the overall construction budget limitation, inclusive of professional design fees for the building will be approximately $40,000,000 to $45,000,000. Assume a design timeline of 9 months 1 month for programming 2 months for Schematic Design 3 months for Design Development and Early Site package/long lead items 2 months for core and shell CDs 1 additional month for full fit-up drawings Construction Drawings The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is Requesting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified architectural design firms to design the expansion of the existing MUSC Children's Summey Medical Pavilion campus via a new state-of-the-art Medical Office Building to be located at 2250 Mall Drive in North Charleston SC. The facility will need to be substantially complete, including all punch lists and delivered to MUSC Health on or before December 1, 2027 for a January, 2028 occupancy and go-live (see first patients). This facility may be designed as a leaning facility on to the existing 100,000sf MOB-ASC or as a free-leaning facility. The proposed project plays a key role in an enabling project for the new Comprehensive Cancer Hospital. The expansion of the facility will allow key pediatric clinical functions to move off the Charleston Downtown peninsula to make way for the new Cancer Hospital.
