The work consists of installing approximately 7,005 linear feet of new water main pipe, including the removal of aggregate surfacing, removal of concrete pavement, removal of asphalt pavement, removal of AC pipe, installation of aggregate base course class 5, bituminous pavement, concrete paveme nt, watermain valves and hydrants, water service line plus incidentals, and boring water line under 4th Ave as described in the bid documents and construction drawings. Bids will be received for a single prime contract on a unit price basis. Work must start on a date specified in the City's written notice to proceed, and timelines for completion and provisions for liquidated damages are specified in the agreement. Each bid must be submitted with a Bidder's Bond and North Dakota Contractor's license in a separate envelope. The Bid Bond must be for five percent (5%) of the bid amount and executed by a surety company authorized in North Dakota. The successful bidder must execute the contract within ten days after the Notice of Award or forfeit the bidder's bond. All bidders must be licensed for the highest amount of their bids per North Dakota Century Code, with documentation included in the bid bond envelope. Any bid not meeting these requirements will be returned unopened. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and will hold bids for up to forty-five days and the three lowest bids and securities for up to sixty days after the bid opening.
