The scope of work includes removal of accumulated sediment and debris from the Metzler Brook channel and the installation of limited streambank stabilization measures, as well as all other work necessary for the completion of the project, whether or not specifically described. All work is to be completed within 130 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Bid packets must be completed as designated in the contract documents, enclosed in a sealed envelope with the bidder's name, address, and the project name, addressed to the Qualified Purchasing Agent, and delivered to the Finance Department on the 3rd floor of Borough Hall. Each bid packet must also include a statement of consent of surety from an authorized surety company and either a bid bond or certified check for at least 10% of the total bid price, not to exceed $20,000. A performance and payment bond for the full project amount is required of the successful bidder. Vendors currently suspended, debarred, or disqualified are excluded from participating. Bidders must comply with all statutory requirements listed in the contract documents and plans, including business registration, the Prevailing Wage Act, public work contractor registration, and affirmative action requirements. The Borough of Bergenfield intends to award the project to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder and reserves the right to reject any or all bid packets as permitted by law. Bids are irrevocable for sixty calendar days after opening, unless otherwise extended.
