Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Hampden, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.
Replacement of the HVAC System at the Hampden Senior Center Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Replace the existing HVAC system for the Hampden Senior Center located at 104 Allen Street, Hampden, MA 01036. Question Deadline 03/19/2026 Questions must be submitted in writing to Herb Foley, Facilities Manager, at facilities@hampdenma.gov. Questions must be submitted seven (7) days prior to the submission deadline. Town of Hampden MA is looking for services to replace the existing HVAC system for the Hampden Senior Center located at 104 Allen St Hampden MA. The existing building is 7,500 square feet, and sizing for the replacement units should include the possibility of a 1,000 square foot expansion to the south side of the existing building, this possible expansion would replace the existing patio. The work that is required at a minimum shall be replacement of four (4) gas fired furnaces, four (4) existing DX coils, and four (4) existing ground mounted condensers. Refer to Scope of Work. The replacement of the existing system shall have minimum current standards for HVAC equipment as set by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of SEER2 or better. Gas fired furnaces shall be minimum of 90-95% AFUE. The possibility of a preferred replacement of the Ground Mounted Compressors with Outdoor Condensing Units, as listed in Number 5 of this SOW. This would include the use of Outdoor Inverter Heat Pumps to be programmed to work in conjunction with the Gas Fired Furnaces. Due to the limited access to the Gas Fired Furnaces in the attic, it will be the responsibility of the HVAC contractor to arrange for the removal of the units and any restoration to the building to pre-work conditions. Forethought for the installation of new equipment shall be made for future servicing, cleaning, and maintenance. The Senior Center is both a warming and cooling center for the Town, during emergency's therefore the new HVAC equipment must not exceed the rated capacity of the on site emergency generator. A detailed quote is required specifying equipment manufacturers and pricing of equipment.
