Asbestos abatement at Edison Middle School, including one containment involving gymnasium flooring/mastic. A Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract is required. A Bid Security of 10% of the Bid is required with the proposal. The Contractor must pay the Prevailing Wage Rates for all work per Illinois Law. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive irregularities in the bidding procedure, or to accept the Bid that in its opinion will serve its best interest. The Owner also reserves the right to set aside a Bid from a Contractor who, in the Owner's opinion, does not exhibit past experience equal to the size and scope of this project. The Bidder shall have a written sexual harassment policy in place in full compliance with Section 2-105 of the Illinois Human Rights Act. Bidders are required to perform 10% of the work with Bidder's own forces, subject to the limitations established in the Bidding documents. No bid shall be withdrawn, modified, or cancelled without the consent of the Owner for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of Bids. The successful bidder is required to furnish insurance in form and amounts required by the Bidding documents, including guarantee of indemnity to the Owner and Architect against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of himself, his employees or agents, during the construction of said improvements and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the Owner.
