This project involves the construction of an 850,000 gallon earthen and concrete lined waste storage facility. The facility is designed to contain runoff from leachate at an existing dairy feed storage area, capturing runoff from fermented stored feed and drainage water associated with the tributary area. The work includes substantial excavation, concrete placement on the side slopes and floor of the lagoon with a liquid-tight joint, additional flatwork between the feed area and collection system, installation of an earthen and concrete "V"-channel on the north perimeter of the feed storage area to direct flow into the collection facility, and the incorporation or alteration of an existing collection drain pipe into the newly constructed facility. Installation must comply with all applicable Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) technical standards and specifications. Bids must be submitted using a department-approved form included with the construction plan. Bids may be submitted by email or mail and must be received by the specified deadline. The bid envelope should be labeled with the project name. The department reserves the right to reject any or all bids in the best interest of the landowner.
