The Riverside Drainage District LLC is soliciting bids for mowing and related maintenance services for a non-residential area in South Wichita known as the Big Slough for the 2026 growing season. The work requires commercial-type mowing and related equipment, with services provided on an as-needed basis to meet Wichita grass and weed height code, historically about once per month. Chemical mowing is mostly prohibited, as this is a federally regulated waterway. Related services include removal of volunteer tree growth and non-weed growth up to the water’s edge, as well as general trash removal (excluding bulky trash like furniture and large appliances). The winning bidder must provide a $1M certificate of insurance and evidence of suitable equipment. The contract will be for up to one year. Bids must be received by 4:30 p.m. on March 9, 2026, either by email or in-person at the board’s meeting on that date, which is open to all bidders for Q&A. The board will consider bids in executive session and may award a contract the same day.
