Renovation of an educational facility in Kenai, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of April 30, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The project consists of providing all labor and materials to procure and install a wheelchair lift at Kenai Middle School, in accordance with the contract documents. Installation must be completed by August 1, 2026. The contract is subject to the State of Alaska, Title 36, Minimum Wage Rates. The subsequent contract will require certificates of insurance and may require performance and payment bonds. Bids can be submitted electronically via BidExpress.com or as a hard copy to the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Purchasing and Contracting Department. Paper bids must be completed on the forms provided, manually signed, and enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the project name and due date. All bids must be received by the stated deadline. Bids received without all required documents or after the closing time may be considered non-responsive. Bidders must provide evidence of qualifications if requested, including financial resources, experience, performance on similar projects, organization, and equipment. All bidders must have a valid Alaska Business License and, if applicable, a Contractor's License. Bidders must be in compliance with Borough tax provisions and not listed on the Federal Excluded Parties List (SAM.gov). A 5 percent local preference policy may apply to qualified local businesses for purchases under $50,000. Bid modifications are allowed if submitted prior to the deadline and must be properly identified and signed. Bids may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled closing time. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor irregularities, and accept any bid deemed in the Borough's best interest. The contract will generally be awarded to the lowest, qualified, responsive, and responsible bidder. The successful bidder must execute the contract within ten days of receiving the documents.
