The scope of work includes an asphalt overlay of Meramec Station Road within the City of Valley Park, providing for pavement milling, asphalt leveling and final courses, pavement striping, traffic control, and other incidental items and work described in the Project Manual, or reasonably inferable therefrom. To receive addenda, bid documents must be requested by email. Bidders must provide company name, contact person and phone number, complete company address, and email address to be added to the Plan Holders List and receive official bidding communications and addenda. Only those on the Plan Holders List will receive issued addenda. Hard copies of documents will not be available for purchase, but bidders may print them at their own expense. Project and bidding questions are to be conducted exclusively by email, with a stated deadline for written questions. A bid security of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid, per the Instructions to Bidders. Wage rates are predetermined by law. The successful bidder must submit a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming enrollment in the federal work authorization program and confirming that employees are not illegal immigrants. After contract signing, the contractor and any subcontractor must provide a ten-hour OSHA construction safety program for on-site employees within sixty days of beginning work. Businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals are encouraged to submit bids and will not be discriminated against. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive irregularities.
