This project constructs a new 20-inch diameter fully redundant forcemain. The alignment follows the existing 7113 alignment up to the intersection of Brown Road and North Shore Drive, then follows Brown Road and the Dakota Rail Trail northeasterly to the connection point with interceptor 7113A at Orono Orchard Road. Construction includes approximately 9,000 LF of open trench construction and approximately 6,000 LF of HDD construction. The project also includes 16 structures and internal mechanical improvements to lift station L59. These improvements generally include modifications necessary to support installation and operation of the new forcemain The Work described in this Section provides a general description of the major work and does not include all work to be performed by the CONTRACTOR: 1. Performing pre-construction documentation of existing site and utility conditions. 2. Furnishing, installing, monitoring, and maintaining vibration monitoring systems. 3. Locating existing underground utilities utilizing approved potholing methods. 4. Furnishing, installing, and maintaining erosion and sediment control measures. 5. Furnishing, installing, and maintaining traffic control and site safety measures. 6. Removing existing pavement, sidewalks, trails, vegetation, trees/brush, and other surface improvements, as necessary. 7. Providing support, protection, relocation, and/or removal and replacement of existing underground and overhead utilities, as required. 8. Rehabilitating Lift Station L59, including demolition and replacement of interior piping, valves, surge relief valve, miscellaneous electrical components, and all related appurtenances. 9. Demolishing and removing the existing air relief structure outside Lift Station L59. 10. Installing a new sump structure (rock box) on the gravity sewer upstream of Lift Station L59. 11. Providing and maintaining temporary wastewater conveyance systems during construction. 12. Installing approximately 5,800 linear feet of 24-inch HDPE forcemain via Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). 13. Installing approximately 7,700 linear feet of 20-inch PVC forcemain via Open Cut. 14. Furnishing and installing three (3) Force Main Access Structures (FAS), four (4) Air Release (AR) structures, and seven (7) Cleanout (CO) structures. 15. Furnishing and installing a new meter vault. 16. Removing and replacing storm sewer culverts, as shown in the Contract Documents. 17. Rehabilitating approximately 47 linear feet of 48-inch corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert using CIPP liner installation methods. 18. Performing wastewater forcemain wet tapping and line stopping as required to make temporary conveyance connections. 19. Restoring all disturbed surface features, including full roadway reconstruction (Lilac Lane, Old Crystal Bay Road, North Shore Drive, Brown Road, and Orono Orchard Road) and full-depth reclamation of the Dakota Rail Trail.
