The City is seeking to prequalify contractors with contractor’s license A, B and/or C-23 specific trade license(s) in good standing with the State of California, for multi-prime contract methods of project delivery for all the City’s Municipal buildings and site amenities, as well as other City-owned properties and sites. It is essential that the contractor be experienced in ornamental metal work for public projects, and be proficient with utilizing techniques such as welding, forging and casting to create structurally functional, durable and aesthetic architectural elements. The contractors must have examples of projects that demonstrate a high standard of workmanship with precise, clean welds and smooth, durable finishes. It is also required that the contractor be experienced with working alongside and collaborating with other trades related to various types of metal work projects such as concrete or masonry embedment and anchorage. A 10% bidder’s security or bid bond will be required to bid on such projects, and the selected lowest responsible bidder will be required to provide 100% performance & payment bonds upon submission of all project bids.
