Removal and salvage of existing 5@19' precast bridge (24.5 ft wide, 35 deck spans, 6 caps); removal and disposal of all timber piling and headwall boards; excavation and shaping of channel beneath proposed bridge to accommodate a 5@19' span bridge; furnishing and driving 14"x14" prestressed concrete piling to capacity (6 bents, 4 piling each bent, 1 test pile, 23 permanent piling); placement of 6 new 31-ft long precast concrete caps on each bent for a 28' wide bridge; placement of geotextile filter fabric and 300# rip rap in channel beneath bridge as directed; placement of 40 precast concrete deck spans (30 interior and 10 curb units) furnished and delivered by Hinds County atop the 6 caps; replacement of existing guardrail/concrete posts at site; furnishing, placement and compaction of minimum 1-ft thickness 610 crushed stone base on each end of proposed bridge; furnishing and placement of 4 precast concrete wings on each corner of bridge. Contractor is to furnish all select backfill material and all 610 crushed stone base. Select backfill behind abutments is to be thoroughly compacted (approx. 200 C.Y. LVM). Work to be constructed in accordance with the latest edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction. Certified check or bid bond for five percent of the total bid, payable to Hinds County, must accompany each proposal. The winning bidder must provide a performance bond prior to contract execution. The award will be made to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder on the basis of published quantities. Minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, or national origin. Proposals with qualifying letters will be considered irregular and not considered for award. Bids must be physically delivered by acknowledged delivery methods.
