Sealed bids are requested for Underdrain Installation and Connection at miscellaneous locations in the Town of Union, New York. It is the responsibility of the contractor to comply with the minimum guidelines of the Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (O.S.H.A), particularly Part 1926, the Safety and Health Regulations for Construction. The Town of Union Safety Officer is authorized to issue a Stop Work Order for any violations, which will remain in effect until the violations are corrected. Drawings, specifications, bidding, and contract documents can be reviewed at the Town Clerk's or Town Engineer's office and may be obtained from the Town Clerk for a non-refundable fee. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes, marked with the bidder's name, address, and the project name. A bid guarantee of ten percent (10%) of the proposal amount is required, in the form of cash, certified check, or bid bond. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The work consists offurnishing all new materials and performing all operation in strict accordance with the specifications for the construction ofUnderdrain Installation and Connection at Mise. Locations. The work will be performed throughout the Town ofUnion as identified by the Engineering Department. Any explanation desired by bidders regarding the meaning or interpretation ofthe drawings and specifications must be requested in writing and with sufficient time allowed for a reply to reach them before the submission of their bids. Oral explanations given before the award of the contract will not be binding. Any interpretation made will be in the form of an addendum to the drawings or specifications and will be furnished to all bidders and its receipt by the bidder shall be acknowledged. Failure of any bidder to receive any such addendum or interpretation shall not relieve any bidder from any obligation under his bid as submitted. All addenda so issued shall become a part ofthe contract documents.
