Sealed proposals are requested for Electrical Service Upgrade at Walt Whitman Elementary School, under Contract WW-E2 - Electrical Work. Bids must be made on the standard proposal form and enclosed in sealed, opaque envelopes bearing the job name and bidder's name and address, clearly marked for the project. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to "Syosset Central School District," in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid as a commitment that, if accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract and provide further security for faithful performance. Certification of the bonding company is required. Bidders must hold their bid price for forty-five (45) days after formal opening. The school district intends to award the contract to the lowest qualified bidder meeting specifications and security requirements, but reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality if deemed in the district's best interest. Obtaining bid documents from the designated provider is necessary to be considered an official plan holder. Any required documents for shipping must be arranged and paid for by the bidder. Only official plan holders will receive addenda, and only bid documents obtained via the designated provider will be considered complete and accurate. Attendance at the pre-bid conference and walkthrough is highly recommended but not mandatory.
