Description

Site work for a mixed-use development in Lake Cowichan, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The Town is seeking proposals from qualified contractors (individuals or companies) to provide trail building services to rejuvenate a trail located at the Cowichan Lake Outdoor Education Centre located at 8885 Lakeview Park Road, Lake Cowichan, BC. The work will primarily focus on: TRAIL REHABILITATION: a. Securing necessary permits to complete work. b. Clearing, grading and resurfacing of approximately 1.3 kms of an existing trail. c. Drainage improvement where required. d. Working within provincial environmental parameters with special attention to sensitivity measures in the wetland and bog areas. e. Construction of 2 raised structures to bypass a bog area. f. Replacement of a 16-foot handrail bridge to safe pedestrian standards. g. Supply and install 10 interpretive park style signs mounted on posts with English and Coast Salish plant identification names that will be supplied by a naturalist familiar with our trail.
