Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Bushnell, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a 4,800-square-foot fire / police facility.

Sealed bids are solicited for the construction of a new Post-Frame 60' x 80' Bushnell Fire Protection District Fire Station in downtown Bushnell, Illinois. Sealed bids must be submitted in the Office of the Bushnell Fire Protection District's attorney, Holland and Holland, 397 West Main Street, Bushnell, Illinois 61422, where bid documents can also be obtained. Bids may be mailed or delivered in person before the stated due date and time. No electronic bids will be accepted. The Bushnell Fire Protection District reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all bids. The project consists of construction of a new post-frame district fire station on a conventional concrete foundation. b. Approximate building size is 4,800 square feet including apparatus bay, support spaces, and mezzanine storage. c. The facility will connect to the existing fire station via a conditioned connection corridor. Basis of Design a. Drawings are preliminary and intended to define scope and intent. Contractor is responsible for final coordination, engineering, and code compliance. b. Contractor is required to provide engineer sealed plans by a structural engineer licensed in Illinois. Scope of Work a. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and services required to construct a complete, code-compliant fire station. b. Work includes site preparation, concrete foundations and slabs, post-frame structural system, exterior envelope. Bushnell Fire Department General Scope XI. Base Building: a. Post frame constructed building, 60'-0" wide clear span by 14'-0" clear interior height by 80'-0" in length. Trusses to be spaced 8'-0" on center with a 4/12 roof pitch and 0/12 truss lower chord pitch. XII. Sitework: a. Winning bidder shall retain a licensed civil engineer to prepare the required civil engineering plans and associated documents. Such plans shall be developed and submitted at a later phase of the project as directed by the owner. XIII. Foundation: a. Foundation designed by structural engineer licensed in the state of Illinois. b. Formed concrete foundation wall i. Minimum 4' depth with spread footing ii. Minimum 10" thick wall iii. Reinforced wall with steel rebar grade 60 and shall conform to ASTM A615 or ASTM A706 iv. Welded wire reinforcement shall conform to ASTM A1064. Size and dimension shall be determined by structural engineer v. Concrete to be a minimum of 4000 psi as certified by the contractor's engineer. vi. Final design and specifications will be determined by licensed structural engineer. c. Welded steel post brackets using adhesive anchor rods, unless structural engineer or design loads require other anchoring system. XIV. Concrete Floor: a. Minimum 8" isolated floor slab to include #4 rebar, 24" on center each way, with minimum 6 mil vapor retarder between compacted granular base and concrete b. Include sawcut and sealer. Control joints per concrete plans. May be saw cut, hand-grooved or with insertion of pre-molded strips XV. Walls: a. 8' on center 21X6" laminated wood columns (or greater per engineer requirements) b. Minimum 21X4" wall nailers with 21X8" treated wood splash board. c. Building wrap on all building walls. d. Minimum 6" R-19 fiberglass wall insulation. e. Metal ribbed siding with vertical ribs 12" on center, .019 26-gauge commercial quality steel, 70% PVDF paint system, fastened with stainless steel screws. f. Metal ribbed wainscot with vertical ribs 12" on center, .019 26-gauge commercial quality steel, 70% PVDF paint system, fastened with stainless steel screws, with 7/16" thick aSB protective liner. XVI. Roof: a. 8' on center truss spacing minimum b. 21X4" minimum roof purlins spaced 24" on center, maximum c. Continuous vented ridge d. Metal ribbed roofing with vertical ribs 12" on center, .019 26-gauge commercial quality steel, 70% PVDF paint system, fastened with stainless steel screws. XVII. Overhangs: a. 24" overhangs on sidewalls with vented soffit b. 24" overhangs on end walls with non-vented soffit c. 6" fascia with 5" aluminum gutters with 3"x 4" downspouts XVIII. Exterior Doors: a. (4) 12'x12' insulated overhead doors i. Include one row of windows ii. Include commercial operators iii. 2" Thick or greater door panel iv. R Value-17 or greater and a U-Factor of.2 or less b. (2) 3'O"x7'O" insulated hallow metal steel half lite walk-through doors with grids, welded frame, with interconnected lever lockset/deadbolt and HO closers XIX. Exterior Windows: a. (4) 5'x3' Pella Impervia insulated fixed windows, low-E, nail fin XX. Interior: a. Interior apparatus bay walls with white metal ribbed siding with vertical ribs 12" on center, .019 26-gauge commercial quality steel, with 4 Mil vapor retarder behind steel b. Interior ceiling with white perforated metal ribbed siding with vertical ribs 12" on center, .019 26-gauge commercial quality steel. c. Ceiling with 9" R-38 fiberglass insulation, 4 Mil vapor retarder and air deflectors at eaves between trusses.
