Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Woodstock, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The City anticipates applying for and obtaining an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) grant for $2,000,000 for the construction of 1.7 miles of multi-use paths that would enhance the planned and funded Route 47 Road Expansion project. It is anticipated that the application will be made in FY26/27 and move forward in FY27/28. This grant-funded improvement project would include the expansion of 4' wide sidewalks to 10' wide walking/bike paths as well as the addition of trailheads, benches, bike racks, signage, and landscaping. Two sections will be connected with the proposed main pathway along the Route 47 Corridor. Section #1 (1.3-mile loop) goes west through residential areas towards downtown then loops back east to the highway. A shorter Section #2 (0.4 miles) starts at Lake Avenue, goes east, and connects to the Ridgefield Trace/Prairie Trail Regional bike path. The funds being requested in FY27/28 include costs associated with design engineering, construction engineering, and construction costs. The project is included in the City's 2027-2036 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 4,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
