A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limitedto, the following 1. The goal of this project is to demolish the NC Zoo Aviary and prepare the site for futureconstruction. The work includes, but is not limited to, abatement of hazard materials, laboratory decommissioning, building demolition, site stabilization, and other Workindicated in the Contract Documents. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The work includes the demolition and site stabilization of the NC Zoo Aviary located at 4401 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC 27205, and other work indicated in the contract documents. The project will demolish the existing domed structure, associated support structures, and underground HVAC tunnels. The project also includes abatement of hazardous materials, demolition, sitework, utilities, and landscaping. Bids will be received for single prime, and all proposals shall be lump sum. Bidders must include with the bid proposal the form Identification of Minority Business Participation and either Affidavit A or Affidavit B as applicable. All contractors are required to have the proper licenses as required under state laws governing their respective trades. Each proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check, or bid bond equal to not less than five percent of the proposal. A performance bond and payment bond for one hundred percent of the contract price are required. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for a period of 60 days. Proposals must be labeled as specified and hand delivered to the designated location. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
