Responses to this Formal Quote will be accepted via Electronic submission only. This project involves the permitting and installation of a 5' x 200' marginal dock at Founders Park (929 SE 46thLane). Refer to Exhibit A for the Aerial View. Work also includes the removal and disposal of an existing 15' x 5' concrete cantilever dock, and the removal and repouring of 15' of the seawall cap at the location of the concrete cantilever dock. The new marginal dock will extend the full width of the City park property along the Malaga Canal. The existing seawall panels and seawall cap are about 35 years old, and are in very good shape. The proposed dock will consist of interior and exterior wooden (wrapped) pilings (10" diameter, min.), requisite framing (stringers and sub-stringers), stainless steel hardware, as well as plastic wear decking material, boat fenders, plastic piling cone caps, and cleats. Pilings: The construction of the marginal dock shall include interior and exterior pilings. All pilings shall: 1. Be wooden, with 2.5 CCA (chromated copper arsenate) 2. 10" diameter minimum (for all pilings, against the seawall and outward) 3. Shall have a minimum penetration of 40% pile length, with 30 mil pile wrap 6" below the mud line. 4. Interior pilings shall be cut 4" below the decking. 5. Exterior pilings (21 total) shall be cut 42" above the decking. 6. All 21 exterior pilings shall have 6' heavy duty boat fenders affixed to the outside of the piling. 7. All 21 exterior pilings shall be topped with a black cone cap 8. All 21 exterior pilings shall have a 10" aluminum "S" cleat affixed to the side of the piling. 9. Reflectors on the exterior corner pilings, as required by permitting. 10. Fire extinguishers and cabinets, as required by permitting. Framing: All stringers shall be: 1. 2 x 8 RS, 0.60 CCA 2. 18" O.C. (Max.) spacing 3. Thru bolted to pile with 5'8" stainless steel fastener countersunk on the outside. All sub-stringers shall be: 1. 2 x 10 RS, 2.5 CCA 2. 2 per piling, fastened with two 5/8" stainless steel fasteners, perpendicular to seawall. 3. The sawn ends of stringers and sub-stringers do not need to be coated with CCA. Decking: 1. 2 x 6 engineered slip resistant deck boards (e.g WearDeck) or approved equivalent (Color: TBD) 2. Contractor to provide City with product manufacturer color palette to choose from 3. Two stainless steel screws per board stringers 4. Waterside edge will have a 2" reveal 5. Top of decking will be flush with existing seawall cap. 6. Five step aluminum retractable dock ladders, as required by permitting. Existing Seawall: 1. The contractor shall sawcut, remove, and dispose of the 5' x 15' concrete cantilever dock at his expense. 2. The contractor shall flush grind the two cleats in the existing seawall cap.
