Scope of Work o Provide all labor, equipment and materials to meet the requirements and specifications of this scope of work. o The following areas will be coated, totaling approximately 3,500 sq. ft.: o Pool House entrance area o Office area and staff bathrooms o Men's restroom, open changing space, and gang shower o Women's restroom, open changing space, and stall showers o The Contractor is responsible for all prep work at the job site, including etching, cleaning, and degreasing the floors as needed, as well as filling or patching any imperfections in the concrete surface. o The Contractor must use the proper equipment to prepare the floor for adhesion, according to manufacturer's specifications. o If etching the floor reveals imperfections and/or cracks in the concrete substrate, the Contractor will submit change order documentation to DPW for the cost of filling or patching the damaged areas. o Apply two (2) coats of commercial strength 2-part catalyzed epoxy floor coating, according to manufacturer's specifications. o First coat: Medium gray color with decorative paint flake additive o Second coat: Slip-resistant, water-tight topcoat o Roll-on application is preferable. The Contractor will adhere to manufacturer's specifications and application instructions. o Where the perimeter of the floor surface to be coated is not adjacent to a wall or curb, a transition shall be made to properly seat the system, providing a smooth transition between areas. The detail transition shall also be applied to drain perimeters, caps, etc. The transition shall be set so as not to compromise the edges of the system, according to industry standards for the longevity and integrity of the applied system. o The Contractor is responsible for maintaining a clean working environment and protecting all property on site with drop cloths, plastic, floor coverings, painter's tape, etc. o The Contractor is responsible for thorough clean-up of the work site upon project completion, as well as proper off-site disposal of all excess materials and equipment associated with the project. o Suggested product: Epoxy Ultra, or equivalent commercial strength 2-part catalyzed epoxy floor coating. The epoxy coating selected by the Contractor must be low VOC. o Bidders must provide product information for the proposed epoxy floor coating with their bid package.
