The Board of Clearwater Highway District Commissioners will accept sealed bids to furnish approximately 800 tons of Magnesium Chloride for dust abatement on Clearwater Highway District roads in Weippe, ID and Clearwater County roads in Orofino, ID for a specified period. Bidders should note the quantity is an estimate and may vary. Magnesium Chloride requirements: - 30-32 percent Magnesium Chloride - 1.5-3.5 percent Sulfates - 0.01-0.5 percent Potassium - 65-70 percent Water (H2O) Material concentrations must be strictly within the ranges for each load delivered. Bids proposing concentrations outside these ranges will be deemed nonconforming. Each load delivered must be accompanied by a bill of lading and certificate of compliance or, if the bill contains all required information, only the bill is required. Sampling may be conducted to validate certifications at the expense of the contractor, with all delivery equipment suitable for sampling per AASHTO procedures. A material safety data sheet must accompany each delivery. Pricing is to be quoted for delivery of +/- 400 tons to Weippe, ID and +/- 400 tons to Orofino, ID, totaling +/- 800 tons. A bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid must accompany each submission, provided via cashier's check, letter of credit, or an authorized surety company. Instructions to bidders: - Sealed bids must be submitted and marked as MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE SEALED BID. - The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. - Bids may be mailed or delivered to the Clearwater Highway District office. - If minimum Magnesium Chloride concentrations are not met, payment may be reduced by $30.00 per ton or fraction thereof for the nonconforming quantity. - A material safety data sheet must accompany each load delivered.
