Description

Consulting services are required for the development of Road Deactivation Plans and/or Road Drainage Plans. These plans are developed based on downslope risk and future access requirements. Consultants may also be asked to develop a cost estimate based on the developed plans. Plans must be consistent with existing industry standards such as FLNRORDs Engineering Manual and the Ministry of Forests Best Management Practices Handbook: Hillslope Restoration in British Columbia (2001). In addition to fill retrieval and drainage improvements, plans may require design of cut slope and fill slope stabilization measures. This often involves the evaluation of complex terrain, slope stability analyses, surface and subsurface drainage design, geometry modifications, buttresses, and retaining walls.
