questions as to the interpretation of the contract documents, the Bidder shall submit such in writing to the Project Manager, Christian Mann (cmann@tewksbury-ma.gov) The total contract price of this contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and materials necessary for the complete and satisfactory performance as determined in the sole discretion of the Town. The work will consist of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to complete roadway resurfacing which includes but is not limited to HMA leveling, patching and paving of roadways, driveway aprons and sidewalks, adjusting and/rebuilding sewer and drainage structures, adjusting valve boxes, pavement reclamation, milling, excavation, backfill, grading, HMA berm, and line painting on the following various roads. (Funding Allowed) Roads to Be Resurfaced Name From To Treatment Longmeadow Road Andover Street To End RECLAIM AND 4" PAVE Pinewood Road Livingston Street Main Street RECLAIM AND 4" PAVE Grove Street County Road Cul-de-sac 1.5" MILL AND OVERLAY Pomfret Street Pringle Street Cul-de-sac 1.5" MILL AND OVERLAY Germano Drive North Street Cul-de-sac 1.5" MILL AND OVERLAY Waterford Meadow Drive Andover Street Cul-de-sac 1.5" MILL AND OVERLAY Green Meadow Drive Andover Street Cul-de-sac 1.5" MILL AND OVERLAY South Street Bridge Street Poplar Drive MICROMILL AND 1'' OVERLAY Contractor Qualification Highway Division Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The work includes but is not limited to HMA leveling, patching and paving of roadways, driveway aprons and sidewalks, adjusting and/rebuilding sewer and drainage structures, adjusting valve boxes, pavement reclamation, milling, excavation, backfill, grading, HMA berm, line painting at various road locations and all incidental work necessary to complete the work. On roads that have been determined to be Reclaimed and Paved, the thickness of Binder Course, which is listed under Item Superpave Intermediate Course - 19.0 (SIC19.0), will be 2.5 inches. The thickness of Top Course which is listed under Superpave Surface Course - 12.5 (SSC 12.5), will be 1.5 inches. On roads that have been determined to be Milled and Overlayed, the thickness of Top Course, which is listed under Superpave Surface Course - 12.5 (SSC 12.5), will be 1.5 inches except where noted below. On South Street, the road between Bridge Street and Poplar Drive has been determined to be Micro Milled and Overlayed. The thickness of Top Course, which is listed under Superpave Surface Course - 12.5 (SSC 12.5), will be 1.0 inches. All work under this Contract shall be done in conformance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges 2025 Edition, the 2017 Construction Standard Details, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports; the 1996 Construction and Traffic Standard Details (as relates to the Pavement Markings details only); the 11th Edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) dated December 2023 with Massachusetts Amendments and the Standard Municipal Traffic Code; the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting; the latest edition of American Standard for Nursery Stock; the Plans and the SPECIAL PROVISIONS as outlined in Section 00800; 3. Reduction in Scope of Work The Owner reserves the right to decrease the scope of the work to be done under this Contract and to omit any work in order to bring the cost within available funds. To this end, the Owner reserves the right to reduce the quantity of any items or omit all of any as set forth in the BID, either prior to executing the Contract or at any time during the progress of the Work. The Owner further reserves the right, at any time during the progress of the Work, to restore all or part of any items previously omitted or reduced. Exercise by the Owner of the above rights shall not constitute any ground or basis of claim for damages or for anticipated profits on the work omitted. A MassDOT pre-qualification certificate of approval will be required to bid on the Contract.
