Separate, sealed bids will be received for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the construction of the Shaw Road Connector project. The major items of work consist of: Temporary and Permanent Traffic Control; Temporary and Permanent Erosion Control; Grading Complete, including Clearing and Grubbing, Grading; Roadside Treatments, including Ditching and Vegetation Establishment; Drainage, including Storm-drain pipes and storm drainage structures; Subgrade and Base Preparation, including Graded Aggregate Base; Asphalt Placement, including Recycled Asphalt Concrete Leveling and 19MM, 12.5 MM Superpave; Concrete Construction, including Sidewalks, Ramps, Valley Gutter, Curb & Gutter, Concrete Base or Widening; Pavement Markings and Permanent Signs; Traffic Signal, including Strain Poles, Mast Arms, and Signal Heads. Work is as specified in the Bid Document and shall be done in accordance with current GDOT standards and specifications. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond prepared on an accepted form, duly executed by the bidder, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. The successful bidder for this contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor and material payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid. Award, if made, will be to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Bids shall be clearly marked and sealed. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in the best interest of the County. The Owner has the right to add to and delete from the contract once it has been awarded. Owner reserves the right to waive any formality or informality or to reject any or all bids, to evaluate bids, and to accept any bid which in its opinion may be for the best interest of Owner. Non-discrimination policy applies and consideration of DBE's (Disadvantaged Business Enterprises) is encouraged. Pre-qualification requirements: No bid will be accepted from a bidder who has not purchased a set of bid documents from the Coweta County Public Works Office. No bid will be accepted from a bidder who does not meet the pre-qualification requirements outlined in paragraph B.01. It is the intent by providing this PRECAST BOX CULVERT DBL 4X6 Bid Item that bidders can bid the culvert barrels under this precast bid item or they can bid the culvert cast in place using the concrete and steel bid items. If bidding the precast barrels, the bidders will still need to bid concrete and steel for the cast in place wingwalls, toewalls, parapet walls and apron. If not bidding the precast bid item, it will not make your bids be considered non-responsive if left blank.
