Sealed bids are requested for supplying all labor and materials necessary for the construction of a gabion wall on the access road to the wastewater lagoon. The work generally consists of a gabion wall and related items. The Contractor is responsible for performing all work and furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the referenced drawings. Contract time is 90 consecutive calendar days from the effective date in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed based on actual costs incurred for each day beyond the contract time, and the Contractor shall also pay the Owner for any additional costs or losses incurred due to default. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and provide a current Certificate of Responsibility from the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors, noting the classification and value/type of construction authorized. Each bidder must write their Certificate of Responsibility Number on the envelope containing the proposal. Proposals must be submitted, sealed, and deposited prior to the designated hour and date. No bid may be withdrawn within 90 days after the bid opening. Non-resident bidders must attach a copy of their resident state's laws regarding non-resident contractor treatment. Each bidder must include a Bid Bond or Certified Check for five percent of their bid as security and may be required to submit a current financial statement if requested. The successful bidder must provide a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each for 100 percent of the contract amount. The project is funded by a Natural Resources Conservation Service Grant.
