Replace the Fire Line for the Shawnee County Department of Corrections Work Crew building. The project includes the installation of a 6" underground fire line with the tie-in at the northeast corner of the building. The intent is to bore under 8th Street to the fire riser room and leave a 6" flanged connection within one foot of the finished floor inside the building. The Fire Riser Tie-in will be coordinated with Jayhawk Fire & Sprinkler, and the price should be included in the bid. Tapping sleeve tie-in expenses with the City of Topeka are to be included (estimated at $10,000.00). Provide private utility locating services. Saw cutting, removal, and replacement of all concrete surfaces is required, as well as barricading excavations and providing two sets of sidewalk closure signs. Any additional signage needed for the work is to be provided by subcontractors. Work must be completed within 60 days of bid award. Responses should assume no prior knowledge of products, services, or capabilities, and should prioritize clarity and a complete presentation of factual information. Responses must include a cover letter outlining understanding of the work, commitment to the timeline, a statement of qualifications, and confirmation that the proposal is a firm and irrevocable offer for ninety days from proposal opening. Attachment 1 should include contact information, direct questions, pricing schedules, references for similar projects within the last 5 years, and any exceptions to terms and conditions.
