Spring Lake Township is accepting bids for snow and ice removal on township roads, which include 16.5 miles of gravel road and 39.22 miles of bituminous road. Bidders are required to submit hourly rates for the contract period April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2029. Bids must include: 1) A schedule of available equipment for snow removal with applicable hourly rates. Minimum equipment required includes a plow truck with wing and sander (minimum 5-yard box), and a road grader (minimum 150 hp) with a V-plow and wing. 2) A schedule of available equipment for applying salt, chips, sand/salt mix, with applicable hourly rates. Salt, sand/salt mix, and chips must be available seven days a week and stored in a protected location at the contractor's premises or a location acceptable to the Town Board. All bids must include a current certificate of insurance showing worker's compensation coverage and a general liability policy with an aggregate limit of at least $1,500,000. Bids must be submitted at the specified location and by the specified deadline.
