The Huntsville Fire Department is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the design, manufacture, delivery, and installation of a three-story modular fire training burn tower located at Huntsville Fire Station #2, 378 Harmony Road, Huntsville, AR 72740. The facility shall support Class A live-fire training evolutions and comply with all requirements specified, including NFPA 1402 and NFPA 1403 compliance, modular construction utilizing factory-built components, and third-party certification for compliance and structural integrity. The structure will include a minimum of three stories with a clear ceiling height of at least nine feet per level, constructed with reinforced concrete, steel, or approved fire-resistant composite materials. Features shall include dedicated Class A burn rooms with sacrificial surfaces, configurable interior layouts, hose ports between floors, vertical ventilation openings, interior stairwells, and integrated training props such as a hallway burn prop, forcible entry prop, and vertical ventilation prop. Safety features include a standpipe system with hose connections on each level, adequate drainage, guardrails on elevated surfaces, and clearly marked emergency egress routes. The successful bidder must provide engineered drawings, NFPA compliance statements, third-party certification, installation manuals, maintenance schedules, and warranty information. Deliverables include completed fabrication, painting, transport, and setup of the fire training structure, an operations and safety manual, warranty information, as-built schematics, and anchoring details. Each bid must include a bid bond equal to five percent of the total bid amount as a guarantee not to withdraw the bid for 60 days. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked for the project.
