The Hinton Training Centre (HTC) is operated by the Department of Forestry and Parks and develops and delivers professional and technical training programs for employees of the Forestry Division. It also hosts workshops, conferences, and provides meeting facilities for various clients. The HTC campus includes an academic building (classrooms, offices, gymnasium), two residence buildings (fitness rooms, lounges, laundry rooms, kitchenettes), a forestry museum, a warehouse, a commercial kitchen, dining facility, and the Cache Percotte Fire Camp, serving over 10,000 clients annually. Forestry and Parks requires janitorial and housekeeping services for all buildings on site. Janitorial services include cleaning all common client and shared areas such as washrooms, classrooms, offices, lounges, kitchenettes, corridors, and other public, administrative, or client-accessible spaces. Housekeeping services consist of cleaning and preparing resident dormitory rooms upon client check-out, including cleaning floors and furniture, removing trash and debris, changing bed linens, and making beds. All rooms must be restored to a clean, orderly, and occupancy-ready condition, with the number of rooms serviced varying weekly based on check-ins and check-outs. During periods when the Cache Percotte Fire Camp is operational (March to October), the successful proponent must provide on-site support services related to sleeping accommodations within camp cabins. Due to the nature of wildfire management, the successful proponent must be flexible and adaptable to meet the Province’s needs.
