The scope of work includes future street repair and paving projects to be completed through the end of the year 2026. The specifications requested for pricing are: hot mixed asphalt (HMA) surface, installed; surface milling; adjusting casting to grade; striping; sealing cracks and joints; patching; and compacted aggregate. Sealed bids must be turned in by 12:00 pm on the designated deadline to be considered. Bids will be opened at the Clarksville Public Works Department. The contractor shall exercise proper precaution at all times for the protection of persons and property and shall be responsible for all damages to persons or property. The safety provisions of applicable laws and building and construction codes shall be observed. Machinery, equipment and all hazards shall be guarded in accordance with the safety provisions of the “Manual of Accident Prevention Construction” published by the Associated General Contractors of America, Inc., to the extent that such provisions are not in conflict with applicable laws. The contactor shall remain responsible for the safety and protection of the work until the work is completed and accepted by the Town. Mobilization/ De-Mobilization In general, project mobilization and de-mobilization is the activation of a contractor’s physical and manpower resources for transfer to and from a construction site until the completion of the contract/ project. A bid item for mobilization has been added to the proposal form. Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) All HMA pavement and materials shall be in accordance with the most recent INDOT Standard Specifications, Section 400, Hot Mix Asphalt, HMA pavement. The course shall be spread to a predetermined compacted thickness. All placing of HMA shall be in accordance with the most recent INDOT Standard Specifications Section 400 except for the payment of services, which will be outlined within these documents and the acceptance of material is solely based on INDOT Standard Specifications Section 402.
