As of May 06, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. The project consists of the removal of concrete rubble debris, placement of geotextile fabric, timber buffer, and placement of engineered riprap and recycled concrete rubble within the template shown on the Contract Drawings. It is expected that stone, removal of debris, erosion and sediment control, and all other incidental work necessary to complete the project will be completed by the Contractor. A. The project is located on Ocean View Beach between Sarah Constant Beach Park and Ocean View Beach Park in Norfolk, VA. The exact locations of the work items are shown on the Contract Drawings (the plans). B. Weather/ Physical Conditions The location of the work is situated along the Chesapeake Bay in Norfolk, Virginia. The area is at times exposed to high winds, high tides, and severe waves. The mean tide range is approximately 2.4 feet. The work under this project involves the construction of armored stone revetment along the shoreline, disposal of existing building demolition rip rap debris, and provision of a timber barrier to protect the existing bulkhead.
