Renovation of an educational facility in Crescent City, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Redwood Elementary School Modernization Project will receive sealed bids for the work described in the plans, specifications, and other contract documents available at the District Office or electronically from Del Norte Bidders Exchange. Each bid must be on the provided Bid Proposal Form and accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than ten percent of the maximum bid amount. Bidders must also provide names, locations, and descriptions of work for subcontractors performing over one-half of one percent of the bid price. The project is subject to prevailing wage regulations and all contractors and subcontractors must comply with these rates. Substitution of appropriate securities in lieu of retention amounts from progress payments is allowed. The District may reject any or all bids and waive informalities or irregularities. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the bid opening. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. This project is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements and compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations for public works projects over $25,000 or maintenance projects over $15,000. A mandatory bidders' conference is required for bid consideration, unless prospective bidders have already attended a previous walkthrough of the site. Pre-qualification requirements: All bidders and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors must have been prequalified by the District pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20111.6, with applications available from Quality Bidders and due by the specified deadline. Each bidder must possess a B General Contractor California State Contractor's license at the time of contract award. Attendance at the mandatory bidders' conference is required unless a previous walk was attended.
