Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 88,000-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.
Project includes demolition of the existing David Cook Publishing Factory and construction of a new 2-story, 88,000 square foot elementary school with site improvements and a complete geothermal mechanical system. Lump sum bid proposals will be received for this project. Bid security in the form of a bid bond only in an amount equal to 10 percent of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Bid security shall be made payable to the Board of Education School District U-46. Bids shall be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope with the Bid Package number and Project Name clearly marked. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works and must comply with Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws. Bidding documents are available in electronic format from International Contractors, Inc. All bid questions must be emailed directly to the designated contacts. Bidders are prohibited from contacting the District or design consultants directly. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the District.
