Separate sealed bids for the 2026-28 Street Paving Project will be received for work located within the Town of Marion. The project generally consists of furnishing and placing approximately 4,500 tons of bituminous asphalt concrete and 2,800 square yards of asphalt milling profiling, on a term contract basis through January 2028. Price adjustments may be made in accordance with the VDOT method for liquid asphalt adjustment. The contract term may be extended for two additional years with mutual approval. Instructions to bidders: Bids must be delivered in sealed envelopes and include on the outside and in the bid, over the bidder's signature, the appropriate contractor license class (A or B) and number. Bidders must provide written notice of any claim of right to withdraw a bid within two business days of the bid opening. Withdrawal of bids is permitted only as allowed by law, and will result in forfeiture of the bid bond. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids. Bidders and their subcontractors must comply with Executive Orders 11246 and 11375 (non-discrimination in employment) for bids of $10,000 or more, and with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Bidders must certify that they do not and will not maintain segregated facilities. The owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids in their best interest.
