The work includes replacing approximately 20,100 linear feet of 6-inch main; replacing approximately 2,700 linear feet of 8-inch main; replacing approximately 17,900 linear feet of 12-inch main; replacing approximately 140 gate valves ranging from 6 to 12 inches; removing 60 fire hydrant assemblies; installing 67 new fire hydrant assemblies; replacing 236 service connections; and installing miscellaneous appurtenances. Prospective bidders are required to register at The Wooten Plan Room to obtain bidding documents. Bidders must provide company name, contact information, NC contractor's license details, and indicate whether they are a Bidder, Supplier, or Sub-Contractor. Bid security in the amount of five percent of the bid must accompany each bid. Bidders must be licensed to perform the work in accordance with North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87. The Owner encourages bids from small, minority, and female contractors as well as disadvantaged business enterprises. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder, considering quality, performance, and time specified in the proposals.
