Renovation of a mixed-use development in Omaha, Nebraska. Working plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The contractor shall provide all design, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and construction services necessary to complete project 636-26-504, Correct Grand Island Safety and Access Deficiencies, for the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. The Design-Build team shall design, provide, install, and commission all elements required by the Performance Work Statement, including the demolition and replacement of steps, ramps, ADA-compliant handrails, curbs, curb access ramps, and other concrete at the terraced west entrance to Building 1. Work includes furnishing and installing two loading dock levelers at the east loading dock of Building 1; demolishing and reinstalling stairs, an ADA-accessible ramp, and ADA-compliant handrails at the east entrance to Building 6; and installing an ADA-compliant entrance door. The contractor shall demolish and reinstall stairs, ADA-accessible ramps, and ADA-compliant handrails at the entrances to Buildings 8 and 9, and shall perform multiple concrete repairs at designated sidewalk locations. The successful offeror will provide an integrated Design-Build team including licensed architects, engineers, and construction specialists to complete the full scope of work. Design services shall include architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental disciplines, and construction shall be performed by a general contractor and specialty contractors licensed to complete all required work. All architects and engineers performing final design reviews and approvals must be professionally licensed in their field of practice. All design, construction, and post-construction requirements described in the PWS are included, and the contractor must complete all work within 60 calendar days for the design phase and 198 calendar days for total design and construction from contract award, including final cleanup, as-builts, and closeout documentation. Project Magnitude: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Location: Grand Island VA Medical Center, 2201 North Broadwell Avenue, Grand Island, NE 68803.
