The Supplier shall supply, fabricate, store, load, transport and off-l oad deck joints and associated materials in accordance with the Drawings, BC MOTT Standard Specifications for Highway Construction SS 422, and these Special Provisions. Steel components shall be galvanized in accordance with SS 422.36 after fabrication. In addition to the requirements of SS 422.36.02, the chemical composition of steel being galvanized shall have a “silicon equivalent” less than 0.04%. Silicon equivalent shall be based on the chemical composition in the material test report and shall be calculated as 2.5xP + Si. Each joint seal shall be supplied in a single length, without splices. Shop and transportation drawings for the deck joints and associated materials shall comply with the SS 421.04 and SS 422.03. Contrary to SS 421.04, Erection Drawings (SS 421.04.03) are not required for this submission. Upon completion of fabrication and prior to loading for delivery, the Supplier shall provide suitable dunnage and properly bunk all components and store in a secure yard.
