Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fort Madison, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The work will include but is not limited to the following improvements: 10th STREET COMBINED SEWER SEPARATION Construct 10th Street Combined Sewer Separation including all labor, materials and equipment necessary for approximately 1,340 linear feet of 12" to 54" storm sewer; 3,618 linear feet of 8" to 24" sanitary sewer; 620 linear feet of sewer augured in place in steel casing pipe; manholes; intakes; 406 linear feet of water main; railroad crossing; 11,920 square yards of 8" PCC pavement; 4,925 square yards of HMA pavement; driveways; sidewalks; seeding; erosion control and miscellaneous work including cleanup. Work on the improvements shall commence within ten days of the issuance of a written Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued upon approval of the contract by the Council and be completed as stated below. Each proposal shall be made out on a blank form furnished by the municipality and must be accompanied by bid security, as follows: a certified or cashier's check, drawn on a solvent Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid, or a bid bond executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa in a penal sum of five percent (5%) of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor, and shall guarantee the work against faulty workmanship and materials for a period of two (2) years after its completion and acceptance by the City Council. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day shall be assessed for each calendar day that work on the contract remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period, with due allowance for extensions of the contract period due to conditions beyond the control of the Contractor. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities and to enter into such contract as it shall deem for the best interest of the City.
