Renovation of a water / sewer project in Macon, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The project involves furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and appurtenances necessary for the installation of structural repairs at the Amerson Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The scope of work includes exterior and interior building repairs to address water infiltration, concrete deterioration, and structural settlement. Tasks consist of debris and vegetation removal at slab joints, replacement of backer rod and sealant, cleaning of water-stain buildup on exterior veneer surfaces, and repair or replacement of damaged or deflecting gutters and downspouts to improve drainage and prevent future leaks. Structural work involves epoxy and polyurethane crack injection, concrete patching, spall repair, pressure grouting, and helical anchor underpinning to stabilize existing slabs and foundations. Additional improvements cover application of epoxy coatings, installation of a new dehumidifier unit with a concrete equipment pad, new ductwork within the pipe gallery, and replacement of the existing steel grate at the sump pump with a reinforced aluminum plate. Fifty-one percent of the work must be self-performed by the General Contractor. The project will be awarded by base bid on a lump sum basis for all work required by the contract documents. Instructions to bidders include: attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting, submission of a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, compliance with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Participation Requirements, affixing the Georgia Utility Contractor License Number to the outside of the bid envelope, and furnishing performance and payment bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price. Bidders must purchase the contract documents to be eligible to submit a bid. The owner encourages participation of local businesses, including disadvantaged, minority, and women enterprise subcontractors but does not intend to restrict competitive bidding or increase cost. Question Deadline 04/10/2026 at 10:00 AM ET All bid questions must be submitted to Marlene Morales at Marlene.Morales@bargedesign.com by this deadline.
