Plote Construction, based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, won a $28.7 million contract for roadway asphalt overlay and pavement marking on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) from Flagg Creek to Cermak Road. The Tollway board also awarded Burns & McDonnell in Downers Grove, Illinois, a $20.4 million contract for construction management services for roadway and bridge construction on the I-490 Tollway between I-294 and I-90. Nielsen & Associates in Chicago for pavement rehabilitation on the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) from I-80 to I-55; $11.1 million to Foundation Mechanics in Chicago for grading and drainage improvements on the I-490 Tollway; $10.1 million to K-Five Construction Corp. in Westmont, Illinois, for systemwide pavement repairs; $7 million to Atlas Technical Consultants in Chicago for design services for intelligent transportation system (ITS) deployment and system management systemwide; $2.5 million to Rausch Infrastructure in Des Plaines, Illinois, for bridge rehabilitation on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88); $2.7 million to Lorig Construction Co. in Des Plaines, Illinois, for bridge rehabilitation on the Tri-State Tollway (I-94/294); $1.8 million to Gasperec Elberts Consulting, Downers Grove, IL, for design services for interchange construction on Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88)/Tri-State Tollway (I-294) connector ramps; $1.1 million to RoadSafe Traffic Systems Inc. in Romeoville, Illinois, for systemwide pavement marking improvements; and $1 million to Veterans Vac Services in McHenry, Illinois, for oasis parking lot demolition at the Hinsdale Oasis and at the O'Hare Oasis on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). Overall, the Tollway said it has invested more than $12.2 billion since 2012, with more than $3.2 billion of that total committed to small, diverse and veteran-owned firms. Now in the 15th year of its 16-year, $15 billion Move Illinois capital program, the Tollway has awarded more than $219 million of contracts in 2026, including almost $50 million as part of Move Illinois and more than $169 million as part of the seven-year, $2 billion Bridging the Future plan.
