Miscellaneous site improvements The Work included in this Contract generally consists of the following: 1. Recoating of Interior and Exterior Steel Surfaces (See High-Service Coatings) a. Removal of existing coatings b. Surface preparation c. New coating application 2. Miscellaneous Tank and Site Improvements a. Replacement of the existing 12" diameter roof vent with a larger 24" diameter roof vent and screen b. Removal of two (2) safety climb systems c. Replacement of overflow flap valve d. Removal and replacement of site fence (existing gate to remain) e. Weld hole(s) in the tank's shell f. Grout repairs along baseplate g. Weld rotating roof ladder adjacent to the roof hatch h. Demolish float level indicator system i. Furnishing three (3) hydrant-mounted pressure relief valves to the Owner 3. Unit Price Items (See Special Construction 2.1 Section M) a. Joint sealant at the roof beams in the tank interior 4. Contingency Unit Price Items (See Special Construction 2.1 Section N) a. Welded pit repairs in the tank floor as required Project Name and Location/Address: Mountain View Tank Reconditioning 3033 Park Avenue, Gadsden, AL 35904 The work of constructing the project will be let under one Contract if an award should be made; and the Owner reserves the right to select the Bid considered by the Owner to be in the best interest of the Owner. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to The Water Works and Sewer Board of the City of Gadsden, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
