The project is for the remodel of Room N208 in the Dental Science Building at the University of Iowa. Instructions to bidders include details about the pre-bid conference and site tour, specifying that the pre-bid conference is the only opportunity for a pre-bid inspection of the existing conditions and that bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Question Deadline 03/25/2026 Each Bidder shall examine the Contract Documents carefully and, not later than seven (7) calendar days prior to the date set for receipt of bids, shall make written request to the Design Professional for interpretation or correction of any ambiguity, inconsistency or error therein which may be discovered. Project consists of complete demolition of the interior project area and reconstruction of the space to function as lounge, quiet study, and small meeting rooms. Additional lockers and grading cubbies will be installed in the corridor immediately west of N200. Mechanical scope includes replacement of existing mixing boxes serving the existing and surrounding spaces with hot water reheat VAVs; extend hot water mains from existing risers to serve VAVs and future VAV replacements; provide new low velocity ductwork and grilles to match the new space layout and usage; and provide new plumbing fixtures and supporting piping services for the kitchenette area. Electric scope includes replacement of fluorescent lighting with LED fixtures and add lighting controls, including occupancy sensors and dimming; provide electrical, telecom, and audio-visual infrastructure to support computer lab, study space, student lounge, and kitchenette functions. An electrical panel replacement is required due to the age and condition of the existing panel serving the area. Fire alarm notification and detection will also be updated.
