Site work and paving for a civil project in Sheridan, Indiana. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; bridge / tunnel; bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
236th Street is a key east-west corridor in northern Hamilton County. Sheridan seeks to widen and improve the portion from SR 38 to Teter Branch Bridge (#201), which would then provide a fully improved corridor from Sheridan to the new interchange with US 31. The existing roadway provides narrow travel lanes of just 9', lacking shoulders or drainage conveyances This project would widen and overlay 236th Street within the project limits. The new cross section would consist of an 11' travel lane in each direction supported by a 6' usable shoulder or curb. Due diligence already completed by Sheridan does not reveal any major red flag risks to the project. The project limits do cross three Hamilton County legal drains that would require coordination. National Wetlands Inventory mapping does not show the presence of any wetlands along the roadway. PE Funds must be requested by 8/1/26, RW Funds in FY29 and CN/CE FY32.
