The project involves the construction of a new 19,940 square foot modern transportation management center for the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization. The facility will be located on a 4.23 acre site adjacent to the Escambia County Emergency Operations Center at 6575 North W Street, Pensacola, FL. Work includes site development such as selective tree clearing, site grading, construction of drainage structures including a retention area, installation of utilities, construction of paved parking areas and roadways, sidewalks, and other site structures. The building systems will comprise HVAC, fire suppression, power, backup systems, security systems, all advanced Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technology, and office components for a fully operational, turn-key traffic management center. Minimum qualification requirements include being a General Contractor licensed by the State of Florida, registered and in good standing with the Escambia County Board of Contractor Competency, and current registration with the Florida Division of Corporations (Sunbiz). Proposals lacking required documentation will be deemed nonresponsive. Bidders are encouraged to seek clarification on any solicitation issues prior to submitting their response. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to waive irregularities, reject any or all bids, and award the project in the County's best interest.
