Reference Number 0000416009 Question Deadline 03/17/2026 at 5:00 PM CT Questions are submitted online Yes Quick Quote For Fabrication & Installation of Custom HVAC Duct Smoke Detector Mounting Brackets Project Description The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and transportation necessary to fabricate and install ninety-seven (97) custom metal brackets for the mounting of smoke detectors to HVAC duct systems located in Post One and Post Two. Each bracket shall be designed to: o Securely affix the smoke detector to HVAC ductwork. o Prevent movement caused by vibration or airflow. o Allow for quick and safe removal of the detector for routine maintenance or servicing. o Maintain proper positioning and function of the detector. Scope of Services 1. Site Verification The contractor shall coordinate with County staff to: o Access Post One and Post Two areas. o Verify mounting locations and field measurements. o Confirm duct configurations and detector placement prior to fabrication. 2. Fabrication The contractor shall: o Design and fabricate ninety-seven (97) custom metal brackets suitable for the specific installation environment. o Use galvanized steel, stainless steel, or other corrosion-resistant metal material appropriate for HVAC environments. o Ensure brackets are durable, structurally sound, and capable of securely holding the smoke detectors. o Provide brackets that allow for easy removal and reinstallation of detectors without damaging the bracket or ductwork. 3. Installation The contractor shall install the fabricated brackets at ninety-seven (97) designated locations throughout Post One and Post Two. Installation shall include: o Secure attachment of brackets to HVAC ductwork. o Proper mounting and stabilization of the smoke detectors within the brackets. o Ensuring installed brackets do not obstruct airflow or interfere with detector performance All installations shall be performed in a neat, uniform, and professional manner. 4. Coordination The contractor shall coordinate work schedules with the County's designated representative to ensure: o Minimal disruption to facility operations. o Compliance with facility security procedures. o Safe work practices within the occupied correctional facility. Contractor personnel may be required to comply with facility access procedures, background checks, or security escorts. Contractor Responsibilities The contractor shall: o Provide all labor, materials, hardware, fasteners, and equipment required for completion of the work. o Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. o Remove all debris and materials generated by the work. o Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
