The project consists of providing design and construction administration services for the renovation of the Biology Building and Life Sciences Research Building (LSRB) and the construction of an addition for the RNA Institute at the State University of New York at Albany. The project supports the expansion of AI-powered health and biological research in Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) and includes expanded research laboratories, office and instructional spaces, as well as a biotech incubator. Specifically, the project involves constructing a new, approximately 20,000 GSF two-story facility near the LSRB to expand the existing RNA Institute and renovating approximately 5,000 GSF of laboratory space in the basement of the Biology Building. The renovations will address laboratory space that is in poor condition and not up to modern standards, and the project also includes hazardous material removal and upgrades for code and ADA compliance.
